Sandwich Makin' for The Port
Sometimes we are blessed in unexpected ways on Teen Service Week. While at The Port one day, it seemed like there would not be enough work for us to do. Another volunteer group had gone out on the bread truck and there weren't many kids in attendance for tutoring. So instead of dwelling on the disappointment, our fabulous adult leaders came up with a fantastic idea! Bridget, Jeff, and Laura took our teens to the grocery store and bought fixings for sandwiches. Then their group headed back to the Maria Kaupas Center to make sandwiches for The Port! The team bought over 50 lbs of meat and made over 900 sandwiches for kids who visit the bread truck!
